What was it like to fall through the air?
What was it like to discover you had wings?
What was it like to hit the ground any way?
What was it like to know you could have flown?
What was it like when you finally flew?
What was it like to soar with the eagles?
What was it like to sing like a bird in flight?
What was it like to chase after angels?
What was it like to master your skies?
What was it like coming back to earth 
knowing you could take off again?

I thought I would die.
My breath left my body.
My heart skipped a beat.
I felt my pain break.
I saw life anew.
I knew I’d come home.
I laughed with my brothers.
My joy knew no boundaries.
My spirit was free.
The stars called me sister.
I knew I would never
